IRC stands for InterRelayChat, two great programs to connect to IRC are mIRC and Pirch.

Using a computer with Mirc: 1. On your main menu bar, choose File, then Options. A box will appear.. the Connect on the left should be highlighted.
2. Click on Add... then another box will come up so that you can input a new server to connect to.
3. Then fill in the following
    Description: Chat.RPGWorlds
    IRC Server: chat.rpgworlds.com
    Port: 6667
    Group: RPGWorlds
4. Then click on add
5. You will then go back to the first main box.
6. Be sure that it shows the server Chat.RPGWorlds
7. Most mirc programs will ask for your name and email (it may be a fictional name and email as long as it has a @xxx.com)
8. Choose the nickname you wish and the alternate nick incase that one is not available.
9. Then choose Connect.

Using a computer with Pirch:

1. On your main menu bar, choose IRC, then New IRC Server Connection
2. Click on edit server list (this will bring up a box for you to input the RPGWorlds server)
3. The first +button is to add a network click on this, and type in RPGWorlds
4. Then click on the second +button which is to add a server
5. Then fill in the following:
    Name: chat.rpgworlds
    Address: chat.rpgworlds.com
    Port: 6667
6. Then click 'OK'
7. Then close the main box and you are almost ready to connect
8. On your server connection box which will still be open be sure the following is filled in:
    IRC Network:RPGWorlds
    Server: chat.rpgworlds.com Port: 6667
    Name:fictional name
    Username: Fictional email addy
    Nickname:the nick you wish to use
    Alternate:in case that one is not available
9. Then click on Connect.

ONCE CONNECTED:

If Nickserv contacts you saying the nick you are using is registered to another user, you will have to pick a different nick.. This can be done by /nick newnick or if you are using webtv.. /msg webtv change newnick

Once you have an available nick that you like.. It is recommended that you register that nick. The way to do this is to /msg nickserv register yourpassword

Each time you connect to the server you will need to identify to nickserv that you are the owner of that registered nick.. /msg nickserv id yourpassword

To obtain a list of active rooms type /list and hit enter

To join a room simply type /join #roomname Please respect the rules of the room/game you join.
