grisoft -I quite often get asked about what anti-virus program to use. Most people want a freebie. I would recommend te one by Grisoft as a free antivirus program for the home user.
Arachnophilia v4.0 - Arguably the best HTML source code editor at any price. When you are sick of playing and want to put some real control into your webpages then this is the best place to start. This is the editor we used to create these pages and also the pages on the
Eudora v5.1.1 Eudora is a superb e-mail client containing both Light and advertiser-sponsored versions in the same file (you can also pay to have the ads removed). It features spell checker, multiple mailboxes, multiple signatures, enhanced address book, file sharing, statistics, in-line editable signatures, dynamic HTML (if IE4 or better is installed), 'MoodWatch' (indication of flame messages), etc. This is our e-mail client of choice and we are highly impressed with every aspect of this program. It offers every feature we could ask for plus a whole lot more that we will never use! The address book functions are excellent and offer immense control over the way you handle this data. The 'MoodWatch' is a fun little toy which indicates if a message you've received is abusive (a 'flame'). Eudora is a mature e-mail client which offers tremendous control over every aspect of you mail. Since it has become advertiser supported the features available to the user have grown enormously. However, the old Eudora Light version (without ads) is still there if required. Our advice is to try the full version of Eudora. Your e-mailing will never be the same again!
Netscape Comunicator v6.2.2Netscape Communicator is an excellent choice for your Internet requirements, specially if you are planning to, or already have, created your own homepage. Comprising an assortment of tools, it covers Web browser, e-mail client, newsgroup reader, webpage creation, etc. Certainly a powerful tool!
Visual IRC ViRC, as Visual IRC is usually known, is a terrific 'chat' client with some very professional features. And that is just a short list of the major features! What we liked was the walk-through for IRC newbies so they can be introduced to the world of chat with ease. ViRC is virtually out of date the minute you download it and you should keep your eye on the ViRC website for updates (can even be weekly!). Downsides? Only a few built-in servers included (though you can add as many as you like) – we would definitely like to see many more. If you are using any other IRC client you would be doing yourself a big favor if you tried out ViRC. If you are just starting out in chat (or want to but are afraid to take the plunge) then ViRC is probably the best IRC client around – at any price!
